Meaning behind the design: This ManekiOni design has great meaning for us as a small family business as my eldest sibling helped create this through her hand-drawn concepts to then be the first item designed for the brand launch. The body of Manekineko being about the good luck and good fortune as well as the Oni mask being the side of darkness. It’s almost like Yin and Yang but with our own twist. REI in Japanese has both good and bad meanings which coincides with the brand name.
